The latest prices for both ex-farm, head-on, shell-on black tiger and vannamei shrimp in Vietnam are up almost across all sizes, according to the data provided in collaboration with Vietnamese fisheries platform Tepbac.
Prices for 30 and 40-count black tiger shrimp increased by 14% and 13% since week 47 to VND 250,000 (€8.83/$10.82) per kilogram and VND 180,000/kg, respectively, in week 51.
Prices for 20-count black tiger shrimp also followed the same trend and increased by 57% since week 43 -- which was the latest data available provided by Tepbac -- to VND 360,000/kg.
Conversely, prices for vannamei shrimp in Vietnam also rose in week 51, data shows.
Prices for 50 and 80-count vannamei increased by 18% and 17% since week 47 to VND 144,000/kg and VND 119,000/kg in week 51, as the chart below -- which is available on Undercurrent News' prices portal -- shows.
However, prices for 100-count vannamei shrimp dropped by 7% to VND 89,000/kg.
