During its final meeting of 2020, the Chattanooga Beer & Wrecker Board approved applications for Volcano Crab and Bar on Shallowford Road, The Woodshop Listening Room in St. Elmo and Hokkaido Hibachi & Sushi.

Volcano was approved for consumer and carryout service, while Hokkaido was approved for consumer sales. The Woodshop Listening Room added carryout to its menu options. It has been selling to dine-in consumers for several months, and owner Daniel Russell told the board "that has been going better than we expected," he told the board.

He said the said the request to be able to sell carryout was in anticipation of the virus continuing to get worse, "or a [dine-in] lockdown."

He said the plan is to focus on primarily canned craft beers and he hopes to find a way to encourage St. Elmo residents to walk to his establishment when possible.

"I think the people that patronize our business are usually respectful and want to see something like this happen," he said when asked about possible issues with littering, and people leaving and opening a beer in their car as they drive off.

The board has been meeting via Zoom since early in the pandemic and will likely continue, city attorney Melinda Foster told the board at the end of the meeting.
