The latest prices for large-sized, head-on, shell-on (HOSO), farm-gate vannamei shrimp from India remained flat across all regions in week 47, according to data supplied by farming services company Aquaconnect.
Prices for larger shrimp from Andhra Pradesh, however, followed different trends depending on sizes. While prices for 30-count shrimp remained flat at INR 490 per kilogram ($6.58), prices for 40-count increased by 3% week-on-week to INR 410/kg in week 47.
Farm-gate prices for smaller shrimp followed the same trend as for smaller sizes. Thus, prices for 100-count shrimp also remained flat at INR 230/kg while the price for 80-count slightly increased by 2% to INR 270/kg.
Meanwhile, according to the chart below -- which is available in Undercurrent News' prices portal --, prices for 60-count shrimp also remained flat at INR 330/kg.
Prices in the Indian state of Gujarat remained flat for larger sizes and increased for medium and small-sized shrimp in week 47, as the chart below shows.
Thus, farm-gate prices for 30 and 40-count shrimp remained stable at INR 420/kg and INR 360/kg, respectively, while medium-sized, 60-count shrimp prices increased by 7% w-o-w to INR 310/kg.
Small-sized, 80- and 100-count shrimp prices also rose by 4% and 5% w-o-w, respectively, to INR 250/kg and INR 220/kg.
In contrast, vannamei farm-gate prices in West Bengal remained stable across all sizes in week 47, data shows.
Prices for medium-sized, 60-count shrimp remained flat at INR 290/kg, as prices for large-sized, 30- and 40-count shrimp stablilized at INR 410/kg and INR 340/kg, respectively.
According to the data below, small-sized, 80 and 100-count shrimp prices also remained flat at INR 235/kg and INR 215/kg.
