These are two food favorites in Hawaiʻi—and Bogart’s Café in Kapahulu on Oʻahu found a delicious way to combine the two.

Here’s the recipe:
Garlic Shrimp Fried Rice
Ingredients:
- 1 T. minced garlic
- 2 T. butter
- 6 shrimp, cut into bite-size pieces
- 2 cups day-old rice (keep it in the fridge)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Handful of fresh spinach
- 1 to 2 eggs, scrambled
Directions:
Add garlic and butter to a pan and sauté until almost light brown. Add shrimp, toss and add rice. Season with salt and pepper. Keep tossing for an additional five minutes, then add spinach and scrambled eggs (prepared ahead of time). Serve and enjoy.
