Multi-Service Center celebrated the 20th anniversary of its annual Crab Feed and Auction on June 5, raising over $86,000 to help support its programs that help South King County community members.
Hungry guests lined up on Saturday at the drive-thru to pick up 225 buckets of crab and delicious sides prepared by Café Pacific.
That evening, MSC hosted a streaming virtual event with over 100 bidders actively trying to win one of 93 items that included beach getaways, dining experiences and gift baskets.
Ted Colby served as master of ceremonies, and Carol shared her story of how MSC helped her family find stable housing.
Two raffle winners each walked away with a pair of airline tickets donated by Alaska Airlines. The money raised at this event will help support MSC as it provides basic support such as food, rental assistance and energy assistance to local residents.
“While a virtual event is not the same as in-person, we were very pleased with the excitement for our annual event this year,” said MSC CEO Robin Corak. “We are continually amazed by the outpouring of support in our community for those who need our help. We look forward to being in person again for our Crab Feed and Auction on June 4, 2022!”
This year’s auction was sponsored by lead sponsors Alaska Airlines, HomeStreet Bank, Puget Sound Energy, and WSECU; associate sponsors Banner Bank, BECU, David and Donna Berger, Columbia Bank, Federal Way Public Schools, King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer, and Think Frink Home Team; and booster sponsors Brantley, Janson, Yost and Ellison, Claraphi Advisory Network, Eagle Tire & Automotive, Federal Way Licensing, South King Firefighters Foundation, and TOTE Maritime.
