Series wrap-up: The Jumbo Shrimp dropped three of five games against the Norfolk Tides. Sunday's game was rained out, postponed to be made up as a doubleheader on Aug. 4.
Highlight: They don't get much longer than this. Outfielder Jesus Sanchez blasted a 508-foot home run in Saturday's game against the Tides, which was not only the longest home run for the club but exceeded the distance for any homer in Major League Baseball since Statcast began full tracking in 2015.
Crustacean sensation: No Jumbo Shrimp player is doing more damage with the bat of late than infielder Bryson Brigman. He batted .454 (10 for 22) during the five-game series against the Tides, including two doubles, two triples and a home run. Brigman is batting .347 for the month of June, with an OPS of .993 during that period.
On deck: Charlotte has struggled in Triple-A this year, running last in the Southeast with a record of 13-22. But the Knights have fared better at home, right at .500 with a 9-9 mark. Third baseman Jake Burger has been the most formidable power threat, going .259 with 10 doubles, six home runs and 20 RBIs. Charlotte also includes a couple of former Jacksonville University pitchers in Alex McRae and Matt Tomshaw.
