GRAND BLANC TWP., MI — An eatery known for its flavorful chicken wings has added a new location and expanded its menu with more irresistible dishes.
Crazy Legs, 5417 S. Dort Highway, in Grand Blanc Township, is set to open May 1.
This is the second location for business partners DaVante Powell and Wilson Rogers, who opened their first Crazy Legs location in Flint last year.
The menu at the first location was simple: air fried chicken wings with several flavors, loaded fries and homemade Kool-Aid and smoothies.
Now, customers can expect to have their taste buds heightened even more with a larger menu that features crab legs, turkey legs, loaded pizza with shrimp or chicken and peppers, chicken sandwiches, salads, boneless chicken wings and traditional wings.
“It’s about to get real crazy over here at this location,” Powell said with a chuckle.
Powell, 34, said in the future they want to expand on adding more food options that feature legs, hence the business’ name. In the future, the eatery plans to offer frog legs for a limited time, he said.
Rogers and Powell hired a contractor to build the space from the ground up.
The pair invested everything they had into the location, Powell shared.
The new location only offers take-out, but the business plans to also offer online ordering and partner with DoorDash for delivery.
“Come in ready to just taste flavors,” Powell said. “This is not the bland wings. We put real flavor on everything. Everything you touch from fries to wings to pizza to crab legs to turkey legs. Everything has flavor. We add sauce to everything, nothing is coming regular.”
Customers can order their wings with sauces such as ranch lemon pepper, sweet BBQ, Korean teriyaki, peach habanero and crazy crazy heat. The wings can also be served plain.
In addition to those tastes, the eatery will be offering newer flavors too, which includes hot honey, garlic parmesan and “Hawaiian Meech,” a Hawaiian seasoning created by a local man that many affectionately call “Meech,” Powell said.
Between the Flint and new location, the sites have a total of 12 employees, Powell said.
In the process of trying to get the second location running, Powell and his business partner experienced some delays due to the ongoing global health crisis, but he acknowledges the help and persistence from the local officials of the township who helped keep things in motion.
“We greatly appreciate them, they work with us, they showed us the things we didn’t know. Big ups to Grand Blanc Township,” Powell said.
Hours for the business are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, noon to 9 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.
