The Crab Shack on Tybee Island has been struggling to get employees due to the pandemic.
The Crab Shack on Tybee Island has been struggling to get employees due to the pandemic. “It makes me happy to see all the people here, but it makes me sad we can not serve them like we normally would,” said Jack Flanigan owner of the Crab Shack. The Crab Shack has been facing some challenges due to the pandemic, including being short staff. “We had to let some staff go when COVID hit, and we cannot get them back.”The restaurant made a Facebook post talking about the struggle and asking the public to be patient with their staff. "We don’t have the staff to serve the people,” said Flanigan. Owner and Chef of Sundae Cafe AJ Baker is also facing the challenge of finding staff and said they're a reason why people are not going back to work. “It’s a generational thing, I think, and I think government funding and unemployment and some people’s mindset is 'Well, I am going to take that and vacation” If you are interested in applying for a job at the Crab Shack, click here for information.
