The Delcambre Shrimp Festival will go on according to the events Facebook Page.
The festival will be held Aug.18 thru Aug. 22. No details about whether the event will be in-person or virtual were not given.
This announcement comes after Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser announced on March 2 that festivals and other large public events will be allowed to be open.
"With certain safety guidelines, we are able — once again — to attend the events we love so much and support the musicians who make us who we are," he stated on Twitter.
This year is the 70th Delcambre Shrimp Festival. The small shrimping community along the Iberia and Vermilion Parish line holds the festival as a way to celebrate before shrimp boats set off in late August for the start of the fall white shrimp season.
