TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Florida A&M University and Dream Marketing Group are using this week to give the community a taste of how Black-owned businesses are thriving in Tallahassee.
Wednesday's highlight is Leola's Crab Shack, a local favorite since it opened in 2007. Leola's recently relocated to South Adams street with more seating and food options.
Owner Eric McKinnon says 'Bite of Brown' is a huge help in spreading the word about their move.
"It means a lot to us to be part of such a unique thing, especially at this time when Black Lives Matter and so many things and issues are going on in our nation," said McKinnon. "To be an example in the community of black business owner striving, to surviving, and having success really says to us that we are moving forward and we are conquering ground, and to encourage everyone to keep chasing their dreams and that it does become reality."
Bite of Brown will visit Sneauxball on Thursday.
