The latest prices for ex-farm, head-on, shell-on vannamei shrimp in Vietnam show an increase for smaller sizes, according to data provided in collaboration with Vietnamese fisheries platform Tepbac.
Accordingly, prices for 80 and 100-count vannamei increased by 4% and 1%, respectively, to VND 112,000 ($4.85) per kilogram and VND 103,000/kg in the first week of 2021.
However, according to the chart below -- which is also available in Undercurrent News' prices portal --, prices for 50-count vannamei shrimp dropped by 3% to VND 135,000/kg.
Additionally, prices for black tiger shrimp in Vietnam also rose across all sizes during the same period, data shows.
Prices for 20 and 30-count black tiger shrimp increased by 5% and 4% to VND 390,000 ($11.29) per kilogram and VND 270,000/kg, respectively, in week 53.
Prices for 40-count black tiger shrimp followed the same trend and rose by 5% to VND 210,000/kg, as the chart below shows.
