Northeast Ohio’s first Red Crab Juicy Seafood coming to Brooklyn’s Ridge Park Square - cleveland.com

BROOKLYN, Ohio -- After co-owning a Red Crab Juicy Seafood franchise in Illinois, Parma resident Cody Lin is looking forward to opening the national chain’s first Northeast Ohio location at Ridge Park Square in Brooklyn.

“It’s a restaurant where you wear a glove while eating a great seafood meal,” Lin said. “It’s a dine-in restaurant with a bar that’s part of a national chain that has more than 50 restaurants mainly on the East Coast.

“Right now, the Red Crab Juicy Seafood concept is very popular, so we see Brooklyn as a great location with great parking. It’s near downtown but it’s not in downtown. Also, it’s close to the highway.”

The owner said he’s hoping the Brooklyn area will learn to “Crave the boil” when they visit the 7,125-square-foot restaurant -- formerly Rockne’s -- that’s set to open in March.

The new Red Crab Juicy Seafood will be located at 4754 Ridge Road in Brooklyn.

Hailing from the south, the cuisine features seafood boil with bold flavors. Red Crab Juicy Seafood is known for its unique combinations.

Following the selection of seafood -- blue crab, lobster tail, snow crab legs, shrimp (head-off), shrimp (head-on), crawfish, clams, green mussels, black mussel and king crab legs -- the customer picks a cajun, lemon pepper, garlic butter or juicy special sauce.

The final step is the spice level ranging from not spicy to extra hot. The dish is served with corn and potatoes. Red Crab Juicy Seafood also offers appetizers and fried seafood baskets to po’ boy sandwiches, sides and desserts.

“We know it’s a new concept, but customers will not only enjoy the food but also the nicely-decorated interior and fun atmosphere,” Lin said. “People can enjoy themselves having a good meal.”

While Brooklyn Mayor Katie Gallagher admitted she’s not a big seafood fan, she has high hopes Red Crab Juicy Seafood will catch on in the community.

“I know residents were disappointed to hear about the loss of Rockne’s to Ridge Park Square, but the bright side was that space did not remain vacant for long,” Gallagher said.

“We hope this new addition is successful in our community and the region since it is the first one of the franchises to land in the area.”
