A restaurant called The Might Crab, which appears to be an offshoot of a brand with locations at least in Long Island City and Staten Island, is under development at 675 Troy-Schenectady Road/Route 7 in Latham. It is taking over a former Ruby Tuesday, in a large shopping campus on the west side of the Northway, that closed in September 2019.

A representative of the Colonie building department confirmed the permitting process is underway for The Mighty Crab. While I have not directly confirmed the association with the New York City restaurants, the logo on the Latham building (above) is the same as used by the original restaurants. A message left for management at the Long Island City Mighty Crab has not yet been returned.

More: Capital Region restaurants opened, closed or coming soon
