Chinese authorities claim to have discovered another positive case of coronavirus on a batch of frozen Ecuadorian shrimp, reports Global Times.
A total of 277 packs of shrimp -- roughly 2,800 kilograms of product -- have been sealed up and prevented from entering the market of Fuzhou, capital of East China's Fujian province, according to a notice posted by a local market watchdog over the weekend.
Thus far, 215 different relevant personnel in Fuzhou have been tested for coronavirus, with each test coming back negative. Nevertheless, 11 workers directly exposed to the packages have reportedly been put under medical isolation, while 45 have been quarantined at home.
The refrigeration facility storing the packages has also been sealed up and disinfected, authorities said.
Altogether, seven positive coronavirus cases from cold-chain products have now been reported since Dec. 2 across China, in the provinces of Shanxi, Anhui, Liaoning, Hubei and Zhejiang, according to Global Times.
