St. Joseph’s Hospice in Gulfport went the extra mile while lending a hand to our neighbors in Alabama.

The hospice held a very successful shrimp boil today, selling 250 pounds of shrimp at $10 a plate.

St. Joseph Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Rhonda Watt says they raised around $2,000 that will benefit victims of Hurricane Sally. “We’ve all been through it one way or another. We help them, they help us.  Everyone knows what it’s like to go without. We just want to help give back. We know they would do it for us.”

Watt says they were so busy they sold out of shrimp nearly two hours early.
