Dozens of horseshoe crab shells have washed up on the beach at Virginia Beach's North End. Horseshoe crabs molt this time of year, leaving their old shells behind. Some of the exoskeletons have tails and legs attached, making them appear like dead ones, but most of them are not. Photo of Virginia Beach North End beach on Oct. 9, 2020.
