Picking crabs at home is the perfect activity for a pandemic summer: a way to socialize outdoors from the comfort of your backyard, and a meal that takes up plenty of time.

Bay families are catching on: carryout crab sales are up at several markets across the region and prices are higher, too (think $240/bushel). So what can we expect to see from the Labor Day and fall crab season?
