After nearly a year of waiting, Red Crab Juicy Seafood will finally open at 740 N.W. Broad St. in Murfreesboro, restaurant manager Yong Li confirmed.

The soft opening will kick off at noon Thursday, Aug. 6, at the former location for Logan's Roadhouse, which closed nearly three years ago.

Red Crab was founded six years ago in Florida by Liang Wu Yang, who spent years perfecting the low country boil while working in the Louisiana area.

Red Crab will have fresh seafood flown in daily, from the shrimp and crawfish to crabs, clams, oysters and mussels.

The seafood will be seasoned, and food is cooked in a bag with vegetables such as corn and potatoes, then served and eaten by hand, explained Li.

Red Crab has four seasoning options: Cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper and the Juicy Special. The most popular is the Juicy Special, which is a mix of all the seasonings.

Admittedly, the restaurant manager had a hard time picking just one favorite item from the menu.

"I like crab legs, king crab, jumbo shrimp, steamed oysters or raw oysters," Li said.

The 8,000-square-foot restaurant will offer seating for about 250, including three party rooms that seat 30 to 50 guests each. Li suggested calling ahead to reserve the rooms, "especially on weekends."

There is also bar seating, but only beer will be served.

Since 2014, the chain has opened 13 locations, predominantly along the East Coast. Murfreesboro will be the first location in Tennessee and the farthest inland. An additional 24 restaurants are in the works, Li added.

Red Crab Juicy Seafood hours are noon to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Prices are based on market prices. Low country boils range from $14 to $38, and seafood combination specials average $27 to $50.

Lunch specials are offered from noon to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on holidays. Meals range from $7 to $11.

Takeout and dine-in options are available now. Call 615-900-3558 or 615-900-3075 to order, reserve party rooms or for more information.
