Vince's Crab House lawsuit against county executive is official

The Middle River restaurant Vince's Crab House officially filed a lawsuit against Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski, the owners announced Friday.The restaurant's owners claim the Baltimore County Police Department did not do enough to protect them from demonstrators outside their establishment.For weeks, protesters gathered outside the location after the owner mocked the Black Lives Matter movement on social media.In a statement, the county executive's office said it does not comment on pending litigation, and a spokesman issued a statement, saying: "These baseless claims are not grounded in facts or reality. The men and women of county law enforcement have consistently gone above and beyond in service to all residents of our community regarding this matter. The county will continue to protect residents' First Amendment rights to peaceful protest while doing whatever is necessary to ensure public safety."
